We know that God must have his church. When Jesus came, he organized one church, with apostles and such. Now, there are millions of churches. They can't all be right because God is not a God of confusion. And in that sense, wouldn't there just have to be one right church, one that can is the answer to all the questions?

and in Ephesians 2:19-20 it states, " Now therefore ya are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the FOUNDATION OF APOSTLES AND PROPHETS, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone."

"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." (1 Cor 14:33) The many denominations create confusion. If there are onle two forces, God (good) and Satin (evil), and since God is not responsable for the confusion we see in the world, then Satin must be to blame. I don't want to serve the Devil!

The many denominations should not exist. Notice what 1 Corinthians 1:10 says;

"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

Why do we have so many? Men are not satisfied to all speak the same thing. Men are not satisfied to teach only the word of God. Men are not satisfied to only speak where the Bible speaks, and be silent where the Bible is silent. Men are not content to do Bible things in Bible ways and call Bible things by Bible names. Too many wish to add their own desires and teach their own doctrine.

Notice 2 Timothy 4:2-4.

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

We should return to the Bible as our only guide book. We should have a "thus saith the Lord" for everything we teach and do as a church.

The Bible teaches that the church is the body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23) and that there is only "one body" (Eph 4:4).

When the church first began, there were no denominations. In Acts 2, we see that about 3000 all heard the same message, all understood it the same way, all believed it the same way and all obeyed it the same way. The result was they became Christians - nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. At this point, God added them to His church (Acts 2:47). There is no authorization for Christians to "join the church of your choice", but they were added to Christ's church! After they became Christians they continued in one accord in fellowship and together in the apostles doctrine. (Acts 2:42-47)

Today, if we read and understand what they understood, believe what they believed, and do only what they did, without adding any man-made doctrine, we will become only what they became - Christians!

This is the goal and plea of those who meet together under the name "church of Christ" today. We only want to be the church you can read about in the Bible. Christ is the head of the church, therefore we have no "headquarters" on Earth that oversees the local congregation, but each congregation goes directly to the Bible to see what should be taught and practiced.

We only want to follow God's word in our name (Rom. 16:16), worship, organization, and teaching. The word of God is sufficient for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction. Using it in this way, we can be completely furnished with everything we need, and there is no need to add any man-made doctrine. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

Those who teach as doctrine the commandments of men have worship that is vain. (Matt 15:9)

Well, for one thing, there is not only one Church that God finds pleasing, if you read Revelations and the letters to the Churches, God found favor with 2 of them. Also, "Church" doesnt mean building, or "organized religion" it means Body of Believers. And there are true believers in most Christian religions. Your denomination wont save you. Only Jesus will and only if you follow Him, not a specific church doctrine.

There is but not in the context that you are thinking. THe one church is the entirity of the body of Christ enmass. THe individual part perform their own functions which can be very different and even contrary I.e. an opposable thumb...:) but when the parts work together God's glory is revealed.

“Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.” (Matthew 7:13, 14)

When you enter a narrow gate, can you carry many things with you? Would it be easy going through it?

Bible says “Happy are you when people reproach you and persecute you and lyingly say every sort of wicked things against you for my sake.." (Matthew 5:11)

“If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.” (John 15:19; 1 Pet. 4:4)

“Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword.” (Matthew 10:21, 34)

“I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies will be persons of his own household.” (Matthew 10:35, 36)
---------
When you enter the narrow gate you have to leave behind excess baggages unlike when you enter the broad one, you carry all your stuff. (no restrictions)

When you enter the narrow gate it will be difficult (persecution even from families and hatred-'world' meaning the dominant attitued of people).
---
True, false religion has arisen (Revelation 14:8) but the True God's only religion exists. Same as when Noah and his family entered the boat and saved from the flood...God's religion is the same as that ark, we need to enter in order to be saved, otherwise we will be destroyed just like the people who laughed at him before the flood.

The Church isn't an organization. The Church is a spiritual organism that is made up of believers in every part of the world. And true believers are united in the essentials of the faith.

Satan is the author of confusion. Most churches today don't even teach the true word of God, but a man made doctrine and call it the word of God. That is false doctrine told by many false prophets. And many good Christian people will be misled by them.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

If you don't want to be decieved by these false prophets, then put on the armor of God and study His word every day. When someone comes along that makes certain claims and says God said this or that, you will be educated by God Himself and will be able to defuse their lies before all who are there.

Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

When you study God's word, apply it to your daily life, let it change you from the inside out. And no lie of satan will ever penetrate that armor of God that is instilled within you. Praise the Lord!!

If there were one God there would be one church. Many churches means many Gods or maybe no God.
