Find a quiet room / space

Maybe a church or church hall?

Friends or family may be able to help

PS Have you thought about changing your day/routine/job?

One thing I can tell you from experience, don't pay anyone to teach you how to meditate. Some places will charge several hundred dollars to teach you their "special meditation technique." Don't fall for it. This is one way to meditate: Sit on a couch or comfortable chair, not slouching. Close your eyes and let your mind wander for a couple minutes. Then start chanting in your mind a neutral word or phrase. Many choose a word like "One", or "Peace", or something like that. This is called your mantra, and this specific type of meditation is called mantra meditation. Do this for about 20-30 minutes but start out in smaller doses if you want. If distracting thoughts pop into your mind just realize it OK and peacefully go back to your mantra . If you fall asleep, thats OK to, but you usually won't if you are sitting up. I tried this meditation for a few months and got impatient because it wasn't doing as much for me as I thought it would. But many people benefit greatly from this.

This is going to be fun to answer!
I hate those days.
Start out by finding a silent room in your house. If you want, put on some soft music. Sit down on the floor in any comfortable position (you don't really have to do the sh*t that Buddha does). Start focusing on your breathing. Count how many seconds you are breathing, alternate breathing with your mouth and your nose.

You can also try this breathing technique which I like:
Hold your left nostril shut and breathe in through your right nostril for 5 seconds. Then shut both nostrils and hold for 5 seconds. Open your left nostril and release the air. Breathe in through the left nostril and hold for 5 seconds. Then release air through the right nostril. Repeat for as long as you like.

I've never slipped into a sub-conscious state but I don't know if that's what you're going for. Just breathe for a while, it helps me so much.

Good luck and feel better!

The most important time to meditate is after a bad day. Make meditation a habit by doing it the same time every day.
Don't be discouraged if your mind continues to race and you can't concentrate on your breath or your mantra for very long.
Just keep doing it

what i like to do is get into the bath and just sit there and not have anyone bother you. if you arent into that then you could try just reading in your favorite place. just try not to really interact with anyone and you will soon enough burn off that steam.
