The French lab that tested Landis for high levels of testosterone has a history of being inconsistent and particularly biased against Americans. This is the same lab that kept circulating rumors about Lance Armstrong also taking performance enhancing drugs. In a sport that is relatively unpopular in the U.S. we usually only receive one side of the story. The media is portraying Landis as a cheater, but many experts believe he is hardly that. As for his title as Tour winner, the UCI (cycling's governing body) has officially stripped him of the title and named Oscar Pererio (the runner up) as the new Tour champion.

Only Floyd knows the truth. Personally, I believe him. He would be a fool to try to take drugs knowing that the winner of each stage is tested every day AND other riders are tested at random as well. In addition, whichever rider is wearing the yellow jersey at the end of each day is tested also. The lab doing the testing has had a history of inconsistencies over the years and Floyd contends that his samples were mishandled. In fact, the lab has already admitted to a clerical error relating to Floyd's sample and in the past few weeks, a Spanish rider accused of doping was acquitted because of the testing irregularities.

Hmm, maybe, and yes.

No one except him and his God will know if he lied. I do believe it strange that he gave 17 different samples during the Tour and the only ones that come up with a positive result are the ones from when he blew away everyone on the mountain.

Yes, he won. He had the lowest overall time, and no one can take it away.
