Before i forget, rockdodge, thank you so much for that phone number, i am going to call them. I have had so much support off you guys tonight, i am gonna take the bull by the horns, and HELP my son, the army haven`t. I have just phoned him, explained, asked him to let me help him, he was sober for once, very emotional, said he needs help. I am so grateful for your answers on this one, i told him, i think it made him more aware of the fact, he is being so irrational, so many people recognise he has a problem. Thank you all, so much, i beleive you just may have really helped him here, he is coming round monday, to speak to combat stress team, and the number rockdodge gave us, he wants help, no doubt about that, i am gonna take the bull by the horns, get him help, he was close to tears when i spoke to him, said his life is a mess. He is coming round to talk in 10 mins. This is what we needed, moral support, there has been none!! Can i say thankyou all so much for the support?

It may sound daft, but to get so many other people, who empathise with him, has really helped!

I was just about to close Answers down and go to bed, but just popped back onto Mental Health - my most frequented section. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pleased for you. It has made me cry this. You are such a fantastic Mother, and your son is so lucky to have your support. When he walks through the door give him the biggest hug of his life. You are the one person he needs more than anyone else in his life, and he needs you more now than ever before. Well done.

Best of luck to both of you, if you ever want to chat you can email me. Give your son a hug from me too, he deserves it.

Take care.

I just wish you luck! I know what your son must be going through. I have ptsd and no matter the cause, it is still bad. But , there is hope. I have been getting treatment in a program for teens and it helped, a lot. You should be very proudof him since asking for the help is the hardest part. You don't realize something is wrong until someone points it out. Good Luck! I hope all goes well, for you and him!

I answered your question earlier, my offer of email support still stands. I am so glad you were able to find what you needed. Getting the troubled person to accept help is a large part of the solution. It is amazing, the response you can get on this forum. A lot of very well informed people out there. Let us know how things turn out. Good luck, msmaryanne3@yahoo.com

I didn't see the original question, however, I am sorry for all the difficulties your son has experienced!

My brother served a tour in Iraq, and after he finishes some advanced training, will probably be going back. Ironically, he seems much less concerned about himself and his own effects (which, he probably should be more concerned about) but about his girlfriend, who is about to be deployed.

It is difficult I know. It is good that you are so supportive and insistant!
