It is pleasing to meet you and share a small Sangha together. I practice Theravada.

I find happiness in all aspects of my Practise and do not really have preference for any one part. All of the Teaching are incorporated and all Practises are intertwined and interrelated. I simply do and seek, what otherwise.

I find no difficulty in identifying and examining my Skandhas, however I still find it difficult to release some self serving desires for some things, I have learned to release my Mind Skandha and it troubles me no more, I no longer cling to ego or self because there is none. There are other traps I still fall into but less often.

I Practise self denial, when I sense a self serving desire I channel it towards others especially my family and my children. I practice walking meditation and awake awareness so that I can identify those Mind Skandhas in a state of full alertness, its a sobering experience and I find it helpful in my daily interactions in that I am more aware of my true nature and respond with its benevolence rather than with my Mind in control.

Of course the 5 Precepts are vital in all Practise but I do not chant although I do occassoionally repeat the 3 gems when I feel tired and weak of heart, I try to make merit on this forum every day as I find it good Practise for my development and of course for others benefit.

Thank you very much for enquiring, I hope you find refuge in the Buddha, His Dharma and the Sangha, Peace my good friend.

Peace from a Buddhist in the season of joy

Well, you sound as if you're practicing a form of Buddhism that's more mystical than mine, but that's okay.

1. I appreciate the chance to have a meditative practice that introduces the techniques with no reference to any deities. I also greatly appreciate the interrelatedness of all beings and actions and the emphasis on the mind as our most creative tool.

2. I do not believe in reincarnation or that Buddha blesses anyone beyond the introduction of the ideas he presented and the people he touched. I also don't believe in karma as an external force, although I believe that we are affected by our actions both internally and externally.

3. I practice mindfulness meditation and meet monthly with a Buddhist meditation and discussion group. In general I treat all people with as much equanimity as I can muster, and I read and listen to presentations on Buddhist practice as it applies to western society.

I am a Tibetan Buddhist.

I like that Buddha has given me answers to questions that many non-believers dont understand. I dont really have a difficulty practicing, except sex, we are supposed to be completely celebate to become enlightened but many Buddhists disagree with this rule. I try to follow all the rules laid down by the Lord Buddha as ways to become enlightened and enter Nirvana.

I like this question, is this a survey?

1. the laid back nature and true tolerance and spirituality

2 The meditation, I have serious ADD and i find it hard to find time to meditate.

3. meditation, i read the dhammapada, and i dont eat but two meals a day, sometimes one. I also practice martial arts twice a week. Id love to learn about the Buddhist koans, maybe theres a book with them? I believe in reincarnation and karma.

1. The logic and the honesty of it, along with the clarity of the Buddha's logic and teachings.
2. Practice? Oh that's easy. Subduing my anger at cruelty, arrogance and so forth, commited by others against other sentient beings... I'm working on it though.
3. All of it within my tradition.

i was buddhist for only 3 years, not anymore, but for me the best part was how calming it was to be buddhist, and the hardest part was trying to meditate for longer than 15 minutes, i have severe a.d.d. not really, but my mind does wander an awful lot.
