Too bad as there is always one in the bunch who sticks out like a sore thumb. Sounds like she is young. Being she is in the family, you can not leave her out. Before the next family gathering, pay a visit to her home and try to get her to talk to you , in regards of the last gathering. There might be something bothering her , or perhaps someone has been rude to her. Try to find out what is the problem and the with hopes you can all be together and have a happy time. But don't leave her out. The wounds will not heal and she will never forget, not being invited. Try to find out , why she acted the way she did. Probably for some reason , she did not enjoy the event. Read the poem called: Standing outside the Circle. It is not a good place to be and with family members when someone is outside the circle, you need to draw them back to the circle right away.

I think that it would be wise to just invite and forget about the last time, how was shes being a pain? I think that if you do say something that it would just come back and make you look like the bad guy, and it could make your nephew withdraw from you entirely, especially if they are serious. Think about it, just dont take things so personally, I'm sure your nephew would respect whoever you were dating if it were the other way, because it would be respecting you, best advice hold your tongue or risk breaking the family apart as others may think you are overreacting or being judgmental.

Of course! she is family! although she is a pain in the you know what, she is still part of the family. Don't dis-include her just because she is a pain, still include her, love her & accept her. Just don't talk to her, you don't have to talk to her, but at least you show respect when you invite her. FAMILY IS FAMILY, don't treat family bad. If they treat you bad, hopefully she will learn when she see you that you are being respectful, it will teach her to be respectful also. HOPEFULLY

Of course, she's now family. Do you risk the love of your nephew because of his wife.... Have you ever heard of the word...tolerance?
