1) Don't idolize him. Realize he's just a guy, and there are billions of other guys out there; literally millions of those will have every characteristic or trait that attracts you, so this particular guy is about as significantly unique as a particular grain of sand on a beach.

That's not disrespecting him; rather, it's recognizing that there are lots of great people out there in the ocean of schmucks. I'm glad you found someone you think you like, but it's important for your sake to not "worship" him.

2) Related to the foregoing, "clinginess" is unattractive: you should be confident that your value as a person and as a potential mate will be both recognized and appreciated by the person in whom you're interested.

This sort of self-confidence will translate directly to trust in the other person, but it won't blind you to the evidence if he disrespects you or cheats on you, etc.

Plus, it keeps you from doing anything that might get you labeled a "stalker."

3) Know what you want from the relationship. If you're just looking to be another notch on his belt, be honest with yourself about that -- and be honest with him about it BEFORE you both get to the petting stage with each other: most guys don't realize that sex for women is entirely separate from emotional meaning.

On the other hand, if you're looking for a long-term relationship/romance (or engagement/marriage), be honest with yourself about that -- but you can wait for quite some time to make sure the feeling is mutual before you reveal that.

4) Be yourself. Odds are very great that you're not compatible with the guy (or vice-versa, if that takes some of the sting out of the words for you).

In the long run, you won't forgive yourself if you were dishonest about who you really are (pretended to be someone else or "in order to gain his approval, acted differently than you normally would have").

If you follow this advice, the words will come naturally to you when the time is right (or whenever opportunity presents itself).

I would first become good friends with him. If you already are thats great and you know him. If you aren't get to know him and you may become even more attrted to him or you will find things you may want him to change so i would do that while your friends. Maybe after you know you really like this guy and you know him i would ask him out. If you are to nervous to do this ask a friend to ask him for you. If he says no say to yourself he doesn't know what hes missing. If he says yes I would maybe arrange a dinner and a movie date. If your to nervous doing this just the two of you ask a friend and her bf or ask a guy and a girl friend to come along.

Go out with a big group. It'll be a lot easier to talk to him, and not as awkward. Get together some friends. This will work well if you guys are friends with most of the same people or if your pal is dating his.

awww! a first crush how cute! Just look for an opportunity to talk to him and just say hey. Just think of him as one of your friends. Just relax. Find out something that you both have in common and talk about that. I hope that helps, sweetie. Good Luck!

everytime you see him smile to him, the more smile the more approchable you will be. create a coincidence and introduce yourself. if you live alone throw a little party and make sure he is one of the guests and when he shows up confess that you did it to have him around. or you can just tell him after the coincidence and the little talk, that you enjoy talking to him and that you wanna stay friends. I don't think a decent men will refuse being a friend with a nice lady. just be nice and smile.

well first of all ask your parents if they will let you date...if not theres no sense in asking him out because it will only lead to lying about why you are always "busy". But if they will let you date....have a conversation with him...have a close friend who knows him come with you and start the talking. then just be yourslef...dont try to hard or plan what you might say...if you act to tense he will probably freak out...if he likes who you really are you might just get your first boyfriend! good luck.
