to quit smoking you must find a different "rush".
walking, jogging, going to the theater, something that boosts the adrenaline and lifts your emotions up.
try not to do the energy drinks and extra caffeine.
if you're married or have a special someone, best friend, give them a call and do a night out together. the buddies system is a wonderful working way to pick yourself up and get moving and enjoy the challenge you're facing.

do NOT give up if you have a setback, just keep at it. I'm rooting for you>Smile< and i know it can be done, i did it.
best wishes to your New Year and life!

Maybe you need some welbutrin or something to help you through until you can better cope with your anxiety. Call your dr. and make an appointment to go talk to he\she. Good luck I quit smoking on July 26th 2006......it is not easy but well worth it in the long run!!

sit down in a quiet place. close your eyes and focus on your breathing. feel the air in your nose, throat, lungs. mentally follow your breath in and out. do this for 5 min. then gently expand your awareness to your ribs expanding as you breathe, how it feels on the inside of your chest, abdomen, hips, legs, arms, feet, head. don't try to change or control anything. just observe how the anxiety is in your body, where it is, how it moves. just watch it and notice it's qualities. centering yourself in your body will help anxiety. later consider yoga or exercise.

get to your doctor and ask for a prescription for Wellbutrin which will take the edge off your anxiety.. you might also ask for the patch to help reduce your nicotine addiction the 2 together will help you with both. The patch you will be off within 3 months and the Wellbutrin within the 4th or 5th month. It really helps alot!!

My mom is trying to quit smoking, and trust me its not just hard for her, its hard for all of us. Just try to pre-occupy yourself with something else. Chew lots of gum and try doing a puzzle, or some kind of project. When you have cravings think of something else, they shouldn't last long anyways. But keep up the good work! and Don't stop trying, even if it gets hard,

Breathe! The cravings only last a few seconds. Or get carrot sticks or hard candy to put in your mouth instead.
