Had to be your grandmother's car. Put $3500.00 on it and it will go to Mexico quick.

The problem is that Mercury Grand Marquis . . . and Lincoln Town Cars . . . are purchased only by people over 70, and older folks tend to be kind of cheap! The other problem is that none of those cars have ever been driven over 40 mph . . . so that after 17 years, even with just 40,000 miles on it, the thing is probably gunked up and won't run very well. Good luck!

Kelley blue book indicates about $2,000 dollars for an LS model with air conditioning and 96,000 miles. The GS model about $1,800 for same mileage.

The features and area in which you live make a difference. I put my local U.S. zip code into the Kelley site for the prices. You can put in your specifics for Mercury GrandMarquis at the following web address.

With the low mileage, starting at $3,000 would be reasonable, if the car is in excellent condition. Appearance counts. Giving the outside a good wax finish, and detail cleaning the interior can add hundreds to asking price. Try selling it on website Craig's List, if it serves your location. I found it useful and efficient, when I sold my previous car.

Here is the link with a list of cities served by Craigslist (I think it is still no fee):

You should be able to get at least $3-4000 for that car. It's a solid car with extremely low mileage. If you have all the service records it will be worth even more.
