Coffee itself is not fattening, it is what you add to it that makes fat.

2 heaping spoonfuls is probably closer to 2 teaspoons than the 1 tsp on the can. I use it as well and dump half the tin into the cup, so believe me, I can sympathise.
You are probably putting more like 90 calories per spoonful in your cup. 90 x 2 = 180 multiply that by let's say between the 6 - 10 that you mentioned and you get about 8 x 180 = 864 calories per day in your coffees.
Coffee, itself has only a trace amount of calories but the sugars and milks, creamers add up.
If you're concerned about the amount of calories in your coffee, start a routine of 30 minutes of exercising per day. Try walking and it will help to burn the extra calories also help your muscles and heart along with toning your body.
You may want to try to cut back to 2 or 3 cups a day.

If you're in America, 3 cups of coffee there is equal to 1 cup of coffee in Europe, so I'd say you're alright.
However, if you like your coffee strong, then you may want to consider this. While coffee itself is not fattening, check the amount of saturated fat in the coffee mate, that in combination with the calories could add up.
Also, coffee contains caffeine, which is a diuretic; that is, a substance which makes you need to urinate more often, and as a result you'll feel the need to drink more .. possibly coffee. Alternate coffee with water. Black tea, incidentally, also contains caffeine. If you want to watch your intake, try other kinds of tea like peppermint, ginger, lemon, detox, etc. Green tea is supposed to be quite good too.

Hello,
ANS:- Coffee itself has almost no calories at all, & as a drink its 99% water, a small % coffee & a small % either milk or coffee mate (dried milk), coffee is a stimulant and contains as much caffine as tea does (so there is little difference between tea & coffee from a caffine point of view). Tea & coffee are both mild stimulants.
**Neither Tea or Coffee are fattening but they are abit habit forming, addictive perhaps?
**6-10 cups of coffee per day DONT you think thats rather alot? my intake of real ground fresh coffee is x1 cup and tea perhaps 4-5 cups maximum.
**Glad you've lost so much weight thats a good achievement as I know how hard that can be.
Best Regards
IR

It depends what you have with it. Black coffee will be fine, if you add milk it will become more fattening. I don't know what coffee mate is, is it a powdered substitute for milk? If so, it probably has a lot of fattening things in it - you would be better with milk.

coffe itself isnt fattening if you don't add anything to it, but it also isnt good for you overall (esp. 6-10 cups a day) if you have caffinated coffee. While coffee mate could be low in calories, it still has alot of chemicals and sweetner/sugar, which isnt really good for your body overall.

black coffee raises your metabolism so it helps you lose weight, by the way i think you are on your to dieing, 2 cups of coffe is more then enough. if you have a heart attack tomorow, dont ask yourself why, because the coffee will kill you if its exagerated
try water, there is that water stuiff with flavors that still has 0 cals

Coffee isn't fattening... it's the milk & sugar you put with it...
So, no, black coffee's not fattening... The coffee mate can't be too good for you though..
Coffee makes you wanna go do number 2.... don't know if that's a good or bad thing in your case... slight laxative effect...

No, it depends what you add. For example, sugar, whole milk, half and half. A latte I think I read somewhere that it had 500 calories now those are the types of coffee that are fattening. Lattes, cappuchinos, etc...all of them are fattening you can check online for healthier versions of them.

The espresso itself isn't fattening. really the sugar (in case you position any in it). Crem (even fat loose) consistently has some fat. And the vanilla area in all likelihood has some sugar. the a lot less fattening way is to drink black espresso without sugar.

The coffeemate may be the culprit for the fattening.
Coffee, per se, is not fattening and,if anything, it has a diuretic effect (losing water) as much as tea.
