From experience negative calorie diets don't work. It is just another fad diet. The theory seems fine, but you won't lose much weight if all you eat is unlimited fruits and veggies. Just like any other diet you should control the calories you eat. I did not lose any weight on the negative calorie diet because I was eating way too much fruit for my body. It totally messed up my blood sugar, and I would constantly have "insulin hangovers". It may give you different results, but you won't really keep the weight off.
Your body needs protein, especially in weightloss. Also, you can't cook, steam, or change the fruits and veggies from their natural state. You must eat them raw, or they lose the "negative calorie" ability. And your fruits and veggies must be organic, just think of all the stuff that they put on fruits and veggies today, that would definitely harm your body in mass amounts.
There are also health problems that could arise if you only consume fruits and veggies. The most common challenges are dental decay, osteoporosis, wasting of muscle tissue, inability to maintain a healthy weight, chronic fatigue, skin problems, thinning hair, weakening nails, and excessive irritability. This diet will also lead to the following deficiencies: vitamins B12, A, D, zinc, and certain essential fatty acids.
I think that this diet is a myth, there is little to no scientific evidence for the benefits of this diet. This diet could be used as a guideline when consuming fruits and veggies, but that is all I would reccomend it for.
I'm sure if you do the cabbage soup diet religiously you'll look like an Auschwitz survivor before you know it. Think about it...
You would be better off reducing your calories and cutting/ restricting fats, sweets, sodas, processed foods, fried foods, starches out of your diet. If you add water and fruits/ veggies you should be fine. You would be more likely to maintain weight loss if you change your eating habits, instead of trying to develop diet plan that borders anorexia.
A healthy diet and twenty minutes of cardio five days a week would give you the results that the negative calorie diet in theory would give you.
If your serious about losing weight and keeping it off I reccomend this free site: www.caloriesperhour.com.
It'll give you very helpful information on dieting.

The negative calorie diet consists of eating foods that cause you to burn more calories than you are actually taking in...like celery. The cabbage soup diet only allows you to eat cabbage soup...sure you'll lose weight, but as soon as you start eating normal again, you'll gain it all back.
