Is it possible to check why somebody went to jail? And if not, What could a person do to go to jail and then get out and get 3 years of parole?

If you know what County he was convicted in, the county records are public [with a very few exceptions, such as adoptions and other juvenile-related court activities]. Many of the Texas county records, including court records, are available on-line.

As to your second question - jail time, then 3 years parole - that is for a felony level offense. A felony can be anything from drug possession to murder - most felonies I believe involve theft of some sort, but not all.

Texas has a program called "shock probation" where the felon gets about 6 months in prison, then is released on probation for the remainder of his sentence - if he doesn't screw up. Again, this is for felony-level offenses.

Good luck to you

Go to the District Clerk's Office in the county they got into trouble, and you will be able to find out. Have their full name, and any other useful information(ie, timeframe, DOB, DL #, etc.)

the more info you have, the easier it will be. Looking at it will likely not cost you anything. If you want a copy of it, you will likely have to pay, usually per page.

More populated counties usually have many ways to search online. The smaller counties may not.
