they go by the bible and the bible alone. the Seventh day that God instituted at the creation of the world is the same day they worship on just like Jesus did and they believe that Jesus will come again to take His people home with Him. Thus the name, Seventh Day (the day originally meant for worship of Him) Adventist (coming or advent of Jesus). They take the bible for what it says, not what men say it means, such as the seventh day Sabbath is made by God but the Sunday worship was instituted by man, the Catholic church as they will boast to the changing of the day from Saturday to Sunday, something that has no scriptual authority but that most protestant churches follow their teaching on. they also do not belive in the immortality of the soul for as the bible says, the soul that sins, it will die. If you study the bible and if you read the writings of the Catholic church, they, the Catholics, tell you that the only church that goes by the bible and the bible alone is the Seventh Day Adventist.

I will mention TWO beliefs/practices that are unique to Seventh-
day Adventists:

1. When Jesus went back to heaven after His death and resurrection, He functioned as the Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary. See the Book of Hebrews.

2. The Christian body is the temple of God on the earth, so SDAs follow a strict health code, with the acronym NEW START

Nutrition - eat in moderation food that is good for you; don't use any harmful stuff, e.g alcohol, illegal drugs, coffee, etc.
Exercise
Water - use plenty water outside and inside.
Sunlight
Temperance
Air
Rest
Trust in God

The Seventh-Day Adventist church is NOT an off-shoot of any other denomination.

If YOU really want to know more about SDAs, why don't you visit its home page:
http://www.adventist.org/

Once there, choose "Fundamental Beliefs" from the drop-down menu under "Adventists Beliefs".

Contrary to popular opinion, Seventh-Day Adventists are NOT the only Christians who believe that the seventh-day (Saturday) is still the Christian Sabbath; neither are they the only Christians who are looking for his second coming (advent).

The One thing that sets Seventh Dayers apart from everyone else is Saturday Worship.

Saturday is the 7th day of the week and in our biblical account we see many jews worshipping on the Sabbath day or saturday.

For mainline Christianity, worship is on Sunday, since many hold to the idea of Jesus raising from the dead on Sunday, thus wanting to create a new day of worship to honor the risen Christ.

There used to be alot of tension between 7th dayers and Christians. Now it just deopends on who the leader of the 7th day congrgeation is and how well they get along with other Christians. At the heart of what the 7th Day people teach, it all sounds very good. Some of it is right on with mainline Christianity. But, they can get a little too legalistic if all the dietary laws and mandates from the Old testament are taken too literally. It just depends on the local group.

Hope that helps some

They believe that the day of worship should never have been changed to the pagan Sunday but instead should remain on the original Jewish day of worship, Saturday. They still go to church and do not observe the Sabbath as Jews do, but the fact that they worship on Saturday remains. They also do not believe in mysticism and other things like that.

they believe that they are the only chosen and saved ones because they go to church on the 7th day. and everyone else is condemned unless they go to church on saturdays. But I'm sure they have broken almost of the 10 commandments though.
And they have a prophet named Ellen G. White. The mormons have a prophet named joseph smith.

They believe that you have to attend Church on Saturday, no other day is good. Some believe if you go to church any other day of the week you have accepted the mark of the beast. Most keep old testament dietary laws, and they dont believe in eternal punishment. In many ways they are similar to JWs, JWs are an offshoot of that religion (Or they are an offshoot of the JWs)
