My son is 4 and we still have him nap for an hour after school when he is tired. He does not always take one but mostly he sleeps/rests for about an hour. My cousin said this was crazy at his age?! I know he starts all day kindergarten next year so we will be "weening" him soon anyways. What do you think?

I think if he "needs" a nap and it makes your late afternoon & evening more enjoyable then it's fine. Even next year in kindergarten he may need to rest for a while when he gets home from school. Good luck!

My daughter was a little over a year when she gave up her last nap. She did enjoy watching Bob Ross on PBS and would lie quiet in front of the television when he was on when she got to watch television. But she also was not a "cranky" child because of no naps. If I felt that I needed a "break" I would take her to the mall and she would be terrifc. One of the perk of her not napping was an early bed time for her...Great when you work outside the home 12 hours a day during the week!

Taking a nap at 4 yrs. old is fine..taking a nap at 40 is fine! Come on, we all need our rest. There's no age where it's ever wrong to lay down for a nap. If you're tired, you're tired :-)

My kids were two, but for most that is young. Usually three or four. He'll adjust fine to kindergarten, but may need a rest after school for the first several weeks.

NO THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH A 4 YEAR OLD TAKING A NAP, SOME ADULTS TAKE NAPS DURING THE DAY, ONLY YOU KNOW YOUR CHILD, AND KNOWS WHEN THEY ARE CRANKY AND SLEEPY.
