Today I got in the mail the latest issue of "Men's Fitness", there is a huge picture of Pamela Anderson on the cover. Unfortunately it belongs to the old guy who lives across the street! Should I
A) Keep the magazine for myself and "read the articles"?
B) Walk across the street and hand the guy his magazine and ask him, "What do you need this for?"
C) Put the magazine in his mailbox
D) Chase down the mailman on Monday, throw the magazine at him and yell, "Hey this is not my stuff!"
E) any other ideas?

Thanks

Since it's Pamela Anderson, the wise thing would be to quietly put the magazine in his mailbox and walk away. He might be embarrassed to discover that his neighbor knew what kinds of magazines he was reading.

Now, if it happened to be a magazine that interested you (and maybe Pamela is your kind of gal, I don't know) I think it would be ok to take a peek before you put it in his mailbox.

If the mail belongs to someone not in your immediate neighborhood, and you don't want to read it, write something like "delivered to incorrect address" on the label and pop it back into your own mailbox to be redelivered.

This happens to me all the time....my mailman is a blockhead. I take the mail and put it in the correct box since it's always someone in my neighborhood. My next door neighbor has gotten my paycheck twice....she just brings it over and gives it to me. Hopefully the other neighbors who receive my mail by mistake are just as honest.
I would call the Post Office to complain but I don't want my mailman going postal on me. :-)

Actually, it is not legal for you to redeliver the mail. I did once, with a neighbor I did not know, the missdelivered mail was obviously a government check, and I thought they would need it now, not have to wait for it to go back to the post office, and then redelivered. And I was afraid to leave it on the mailbox for the carrier, it was so obviously a check. The wife opened the door, and was accusing me of treaspassing. Trust me, I let the post office do the delivering now.
Mark the envelope wrong address, and give it to the carrier, and leave it on your mailbox, or take it to the post office, if it is not safe for you to leave it.

LOL. Although I find D humorous, I would have to go with C unless you plan to change your remarks on B. He may be old but he's not dead and that picture of Pamela Anderson may be all he needs to feel physically fit.

That's an obvious answer whcih would be C) put the magazine in his mailbox if he hasn't gotten his mail or you could go over and give him his mail. That's what our block does when we get someone else's mail.

I write "Delivered to Wrong Address" on it and drop it back in the post office or if nearby, deliver it directly to the correct owner's mailbox. THAT SAID, HOWEVER, when I was in 10th Grade . . . many years ago . . . one of the questions on a multiple choice test designed to direct us toward the right career, was: "If you see a banana peel on the sidewalk, you should . . ."
And one of the multiple choice answers listed for the question was: "Mail it to your aunt."
. . . since you asked for other ideas.

Read it and enjoy it overnight...Put it out in the mailbox for the mail man on Monday ... attach a small note reading "not mine" to it.
