Powerpoint is a program that some computers already have in it as a package deal when you buy the computer. But if it is not included, then you will have to buy it. You can either go to the Microsoft website and buy it with a credit card and download in from there, and you can also have them send you the installation disk. I prefer a third option which is downloading it from their website and also getting the installation disk in the mail in case something happens to the computer and you need to re-download your programs. Check out http://www.microsoft.com and make a search for Powerpoint. For your daughter to be able to download the program, she would have to do it from her computer. Good luck.

PowerPoint is not installed on ALL computers. You were lucky. You can purchase PowerPoint separately or as part of a Microsoft Office package.

Free? I don't think so. There are probably work-alike clones that you can download. You'd better make sure it is compatible with the real thing or your daughter will be wasting a lot of time and be very embarrassed.

Doesn't she have PowerPoint at work? Maybe she can borrow a work laptop home and do her presentation that way?

Good luck!

Well you do have to pay for PowerPoint, it comes as part of a package (Microsoft Office).

You can download something called OpenOffice which is free, because it is released under the GNU General Public License.

It is basically the open-source version of MS Office and works it pretty much the same way.

You have to pay to get Powerpoint which is a part of the Microsoft Office Suite. There are other options like getting the free OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org which is just as good.

Open Office can be downloaded for free - however it conflicts with normal Microsoft office. Any documents made on Open Office can not be used on a normal Microsoft version of the programme.

I suggest you simply buy the programme from a shop..or online to find some bargins. Amazon have a student sale on at the moment so I would try there.

If they install software that reads powerpoint files, yes. Open Office, Neo Office and Libre Office are all free apps that can take care of this.
