These are just words or encouragement but I did not know the name of my father until 4 weeks before my mother's death.
I was 37 years old. Then it took me another 8 months of searching on the Internet several hours a day to locate him.
All I had was a first and last name and a name of his uncle.
Sometimes the need to know is greater than what you find, but even that comes with a since of satisfation. You can then deal with facts and truth, no matter who great or bad it may be...

I'm so sorry that you have this void in your life. You will need lots more information to find your father than your last name, since your last name is pretty popular and Mexico is a big country.
My son's father is Mexican. I tell my son that he lives in Mexico, when in reality, he lives in Austin. The reason is that he is an abusive alcoholic. When my son is 18 and legally able to make his own decisions, I will tell him the truth. Right now, I don't want him to be hurt by this man.
Is your mom still in your life? Can you talk to her about him?

maybe you should pay for a dna test then go through public records of dna samples and look for a match.
