I have a 2 yr old mini doxie. he lately started peeing and pooping in the house. he hasn't done this for a long time. we haven't changed any part of our routine. my sister wants to put him in a kennel, but we have one other small mixed breed and i don't want to start a jealousy thing between them. any help would be excellent. thanks

Take him to the vet as it could be a sign of illness or injury. If they say he's okay, call in a behaviourist. Putting him in a kennel will do nothing but most likely make the problem worse. There's a lot of reasons he's might be doing it - submissive anxiety, lack of attention, illness, injury, territorial, dominance, fear... the list goes on, and you need to treat the cause not the symptoms.

first take him to the vet, there they can rule out if there is a medical condition causing the problem. if there is nothing to be found and it's a behavoiral thing, and some dogs just start behaving this way and will continue until you say no. put him in the crate. put the crate somewhere the other dog can't walk by or sit by him. don't think of it as you are punishing him, or treat him like he's being punished. just have him kennel in a quiet room and start the whole housebreaking process over again, be patient and consistant. if he continues to go in the crate then go back to the vet, there might be something medical that will be apparent later that wasn't with your first visit. good luck.

like they said, vet first and then if your dogs alright, what i did is i got a fence and when i leave home i keep Juicy fruit and Pepper in the kitchen. Juicy Fruit is my dapple dachshund hound and peppers my min pin. Ive had dogs all of my life and Ive found that the dachshund hound is by far, the hardest breed to house train. good luck

Maybe your dog just gets scared of something in your house or of your other dog.
