i've never had sexual intercourse before, but i had this huge red painful pimple just above my labia, it burst and was very painful...and the open skin remained there for over a week. usually it heals a little and then the same thing happens again in the same spot...the only thing i have ever done was shaved...can this be a reason for it?

It could be an ingrown hair from shaving... but it doesnt sound like it. If you've done things like oral sex, which you probably dont consider sex you can still contract stds. What it sounds like is herpes... but it could also be a cyst like the other person said. Go to a doctor befor you get worried. If you're embaresed to go to you regular doctor go to planed parent hood. Or your local public health office, both are there to help stop the spread of disease.

You said that you shaved, it's probably an ingrown hair. If it doesn't go away soon I would see a doctor to be on the safe side.

It could be a cyst,a boil or an infected pimple.Herpes makes you break out with several sores.Hey why take a chance?See your GYN doctor.Meanwhile use some triple antibiotic, you'll find it at any pharmacy and it's affordable.

I'd say if you popped it, it's an ingrown hair. If it popped on its own, it sounds kinda like herpes...either way get it checked out. You can get herpes from things that Aren't intercourse.

its an ingrown hair. Since your not sexual active I don't think its anything too serious, so shaving does irritate it. you just got to be careful when you shave then.

If I were you...I'd get to a doctor...you don't want to take any chances on something very serious. As the old saying goes..."better to be safe than sorry later!".
