it is possible for a non-believer to become possesed......but it is not possible for a true believer to become possesed. However, a true believer can become oppressed, which is basically being harassed and afflicted without the protection of God. We need to pray daily for the protection of God over our lives, that the blood of Jesus covers us, and for forgiveness for any sins committed. Sometimes, prayerlessness is the biggest door to oppression. Jesus said, "you have because you do not ask." If we do not rely upon God in prayer to keep us strong, it can create weakness in our spirit and vulnerability to the enemy's devices. Jesus instructed us to ask the Father for what we need in His name, and it would be done. We do not need long winded prayers. Just a simple prayer asking for help will do.
An intense fear of the Lord in the way you seem to mean indicates a certain lack of faith in His forgiveness, that you believe inside that you are not completely forgiven somehow, and that you do not believe that He really loves you to forgive you completely. You have a hard time being convinced and trusting God, because of lack of human love in your own earthly life, where loving others lead to betrayal and harm. You need to separate the completely unreliable love of imperfect humans from the perfect faithfulness and love of God.
Faith is a journey and growth process. Each one of us is given a certain measure of faith. We need to start at the beginning and proceed, and grow from there. Right now, maybe you have just a little seed. Let it grow. Water it and nourish it. It will start to grow and someday (hopefully soon) these fears you have will slowly disappear. When your little seed faith finally grows into a "nice tree," then you will have confidence in the love and faithfulness of God to protect you from any fears of possession, and other threats.

Yes........look at Judas. He knew the Lord personally. Playing with demons or possessions is not good. You play with fire, you get burned. As far as salvation, there is none of this "less saved". Either you are, or you aren't. And it's also not once saved always saved. If you don't believe that, then look at the example of Judas again. Best of luck to you.

If you've backslidden in the Lord you are safe. If you have backslidden to the point of denouncing Him and you no longer want to follow Him then you are again crucifying Christ and putting Him to open shame and in that case no, you will be 7 times worse than you were before you came to Him. But it would take a lot to get to that point. God would call you back to Him and forgive you so many times before He would ever get to the point of letting you go. You would have to really totally push Him away and denounce Him and your faith in Him for that to happen. Don't forget He said He would never extinguish a dim wick. (he's likening your walk to a candle and even if there's just a little flicker of light left in you, He won't cast you away) If you are worried about this whole thing then that tells me you have not backslidden to that point. You are safe and don't worry about it. But turn back with your whole heart and love Him. He deserves that.

You are supposed to have fear of the Lord, that means you love him. If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you have true faith in the Lord then you are safe. These thoughts are the devil speaking, don't even think about it. Love your life and love the Lord! :-)

If the Lord begins a good work in you...He will bring it to completion.
"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ" (Phil. 1:6).
Those who leave only prove that they were never a part of the body of Christ.
"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us" (1 John 2:19).

It is best, for the sake of protecting your own sanity, to stop dwelling on the mystical and supernatural things that you can't possibly know about as a mortal being, and concentrate instead on being a kind, considerate, moral, and ethical human being.
As an adult, you don't have to be rewarded, or punished to insure that you will do the right things. You KNOW what is right and wrong.---and your common sense should tell you that no reasonable god will punish a decent person who is fair and honest in dealing with others.

For as it is written, Matthew 28:5 But the angel answered the woman, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified."
Luke 17:21 "Nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."
Matthew 6:26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Yes, it's possible. Satan is more of a believer in Christ than most of us Christains. I think he'd love to capture someone that belongs to God.
