I have a rug that is too long. I want to cut it, but I don't want to ruin it... advice?

I assume you have an area rug and that it is either bound on the edges or it has a rolled edge. You can cut it yourself using a straight edge and a sharp utility knife but preferably a carpet knife.You will still have a raw edge that needs to be either bound or rolled. My advice would be that if it is bound you can take it to a carpet supply store and they will cut and bind it for you and if the edges are rolled they can do the same thing. If the edge is rolled you can contact a carpet store and they can set you up with an installer that can cut and roll the edge for you being that he/she would hve the tools and seam tape to do the fix.

Call a company or person who installs carpet to cut it for you. They are the experts. It might cost a few dollars, but it is sure worth it if you don't want to ruin your carpet..

go to home depot or Lowe's and get you a carpet knife with new blades that's all
