Every time i have to go to work, wether it is just a once and awhile help at a job or a regular job? I hate this feeling! I have been prescribed Prozac for anxiety but it makes me tired so I don't take it often. I get plenty of rest, probably too much. Any suggestions?

Well i agree with you so far, I am worried about not being liked or getting fired and facing things I may not understand. but this even still happens when I work at a job that only 2 others work at and i know them. I guess i am afraid of falling behind on things. I am a dishwasher once and a blue moon for a small resteraunt and I think that may be one of my fears even though I know i can deal with that, i still feal nervous. I just took one of my prozac anyhow. hope i don't fall asleep in the dish water!lol. thx everyone!more suggestions are welcome though!

Probaly social phobia, paxil is pretty good drug for this, but for social phobia i'd say therapy might work but you'd have to find a good physciatrist that doesn't say bullshit like"face your fears" because people with anxiety and social phobia have to face their fears day in,day out to survive.

It is probably because your giving too much thought to what might happen, about the people at new jobs and things.

Live in the moment and don't think too much about what might happen or how you might feel.

If the things from the doctor aren't working, I would strongly recommend going to your local complimentary medicine centre. They'll have loads of alternative, natural treatments. Ask for advice there and there will be people there who can help you understand why you're feeling like this and help you to get to the root of what's stirring up these nerves. What I would really recommend is acupuncture, it could really help calm you down.

maybe you are just anxious at what situation you may be asked to do and afraid of not being able to? The more years training you get the better you'll be handle this...get in a field you really like, and you'll be comfortable then also.
I relocated to another state in my field of medicine to do something totally different...consulting work for a state...was alone the first time in my whole life...didn't know anyone...never been to that state...talk about nervous? I cried the first week at night...then the more I learned the job the better I became..
Good Luck and have a happy life

In order for your medication to work for you ...you need to take it as prescribed by your dr. Some of these drugs need to get built up in your system over a period of time in order to work. The sleepiness should wear off with time. You could talk to your dr. about that. It seems like you have a social disorder....I would take the meds like my dr. said or I would ask him for something else.
