Not all believers think everything is written in their books. As far as calling people dumb that seems to follow the line of attack being used by some in the evolution movement. Rather than discussing the issues they would rather use ad homonym attacks. (To the man).

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we believe that while the Old and New Testaments are the word of God, not everything is contained in those two books. There are many, many other people that have written their testimonies of Christ which were not canonized. It was decided in 397 BC by the Third Council of Carthage which writings would make the cut of the final 27 Books which would make up the New Testament.
Further, we believe the Book of Mormon to be a collection of writings from people on the American continent who testified of Christ and his teachings. That book, too, contains the word of God.
As it states in the "Articles of Faith", a list of 13 doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints "We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God."
IMHO, it is silly of us to say that God can only have one book by which he can communicate to his children. There will be as many books of scripture as He deems necessary. No more, no less.
The only way to know for sure is to read the scriptures and pray about them. He loves us and will answer our prayers. There are just too many things for us to have to deal with in this life for Him to leave us without answers. That would not be a fair God.
About the dumb comment -- no worries.

So in other words, you consider the OT and NT dumb. Then your name is an oxymoron...Darwin eventually declared that there must be intelligent design in this world because he was humbled by the beauty of it. How unreal is that or to use your words..."dumb".
