Asatru is a religion that seeks to revive worship of the ancient Norse Gods. Odinism is a branch of Asatru for followers whose primary God is Odin, the King of the Gods and Allfather.

Odinists believe that upon death, if they are dedicated and marked by Him, they will spend the rest of eternity at Odin's hall of Valhalla in Asgard. Even though the ancient lore says that only people who die in battle meet this fate, some modern Odinists firmly believe that all they have to do is be devoted to Odin.

As for the racial supremacist thing....unfortunetly, yes the religion has become popular in prisons and among white supremacists. The prison thing results from the fact that Asatru is largely a warrior religion and the prisoners who get attacted to it feel that it suits their whole big, bad, macho thing going on (which is not what a warrior mentality is, though they may think it so). The white supremacist thing comes from the fact that unfortunetely you have these Neonazi sorts who have decided to use the Norse Gods as examples of racial purity and also think that just because the Nazis were German and the Gods are Germanic in origin means they must have something to do with each other (nevermind that followers of Asatru were sent to concentration camps in WWII and that Hitler spoke out several times against worshipping pagan gods).

The vast majority of Asatru/Odinist practicioners will have nothing to do with either group of people and will even go so far as to say that they are not truly Asatru. I happen to be one of them...those white supremacists and Neandertrus are not my brothers, I refuse to claim them as such.

Odinism is also known as Asatru, which is a Germanic and Nordic form of Paganism which was practiced largely until the Christianization of Scandinavia. Today, it is seeing a large growth with the neo-Pagan faiths. If you're an Odinist, when you die, if you've lived a good life and made the gods happy, you will go to Hel, which, unlike the name suggests, is a place of everlasting joy. If you're a warrior slain in battle, you will go to Valhalla, the Hel for martyrs and warriors.

Odinn was a god in Norse mythology. He is sort of like the European version of Zeus.
I don't know what happens to Odinnists when they die, but I can tell you it isn't Christianity...
