The "greatest ever steak sandwich" from a restaurant in Sydney(Aus)-split a ciabatta and toast it-spread with smoked garlic mayo;put on a grilled sirloin steak, then top with sliced onions fried with balsamic vinegar until caramelised, crispy lettuce and cold sliced tomatoes;season with salt+pepper-messy and unbelievably delicious.

I personally like: Ham, Potato Salad and Tomato in a french stick - yum! - the art is eating it without it all falling out of the sandwich lol
Also like the idea of the Steak and cheese with onion
Also like the idea of the leftovers from christmas turkey and stuffing on boxing day

This may sound weird, but I went on holiday to Boston about 8 years ago, and my clearest memory from that holiday is a sandwich I had in the Parish Cafe there. They called it a Schlesinger, and it was warm banana bread, with ham and pickled red cabbage and jack cheese and ginger chutney. It was absolutely gorgeous, and I've never managed to recreate it quite so well at home.

Get a can of tuna and drain it. Mix in a few finely chopped spring onions and a dollop of mayonnaise.
Toast two slices of thick granary bread, and butter them lightly. Spread some tuna mix onto one slice.
Slice some cheddar cheese and lay some slices on top of the tuna then pop the other slice of toast on top.
Microwave on high for about 30 seconds.
A yummy tuna melt!

Thinly sliced beef off a joint on ultra fresh white tiger bread spread with Lurpak Butter, Little Pepper and French Mayo with a tiny wipe of mustard on one side of the bread. Red Onion to taste...
Try it. Trust me, you will just LOVE it! In fact - I'm gonna do one now!

My Fav 3 sandwiches are:
hot crispy bacon on hot white toast with lashings off H.P sauce.
crispy bacon, roast chicken, mayo and salad on soft white bread.
But most of all poached egg on hot freshly buttered toast
