Practice, practice, practice. I would work on just having someone hold up the pads. Everytime you start to get tired and your hand starts to drop encourage the other guy to hit in you the face with his hand pad. It may make you conscience of when you start to drop your hand and will encourage you to keep it up so as not be hit by your trainer or by another opponent when you are in a match.

Ive been Boxing for about 5 years, What I did was when I was hitting the heavy bag or speed bag, tape your left hand around your shoulder and just hit with your right for a half hour or so. Do that every day that you hit and in a bit your left hand should just stay up.

I happen to be a boxer myseld. Buy EverLast hand tape (made of cotton) Hand Raps, and it stableizes your hands to prevent them from aching and hurting. If it just gets completly tires, dont use it. If you are a righty, you should use your left hand for jabs (short punches, and your right for power-hits, hammers, under-cuts, and anything with a lot of power). Simpily, if you are a righty, dont jab, or go very easy. If you are a lefty, convert it the other way around (meaning that if your left hand is power, SWITCH IT UP. Meaning to have your LEFT hand jab, as if you were a righty). Good Luck, and if you need any more help, go to http;//www.everlast.com/

Keep getting punched in the face, eventually your left hand will figure it out.

this is common. what you have to do is work on head movement so you won't get hit (as much). footworh and more upper body movement will be needed..which means more endurance. and you still have to work on keeping that hand up.

You just have to work on it during practice make that a goal during sparring, heavy bag and pad work and hopefully eventually you will keep it up
