My Cat, Sunshine, is 7 years old. She was a bad habit of climbing the screen door when she wants to come inside. This is ruining our screen. We want to buy a new house but don't want this to be a problem there. We have tried organic sprays and sprayign her with water after she does it, but nothing works. Can some please offer a suggestion, I would hate to declaw her, because it's something I do not believe in. PLEASE HELP!!!

Get a doggy door for the cat then it can just come in whenever it wants and go out when it wants.

furnish a good number of ideal scratching places. I desire the cardboard scratchers so their isn't any confusion on what fabric is okay to scratch. Siscal is likewise like by some cats, yet not all, so do not make investments a good number of money in this. you'll desire a good number of vertical scratchers, some flat, and slanted. ascertain your cat would not ought to look very some distance for a scratcher. i love the cardboard ones you may mount to doors, yet they actually have some you may mount everywhere. Trim claws each month a minimum of. this may keep the concepts blunt as a thanks to't do as a lot damage. upload a Feliway diffuser for your position faraway from the clutter boxes. smooth Paws artwork for some cats, yet purchase some gadgets before everything because your cat will pull them off or lose them even as he's getting used to them. commence education now. after I first were given my cats. i might want to assert no and placed the cat on a flat scratcher so that they could scratch there, and delivers a take care of.

You said spraying her with water AFTER she does it? WellI know that when my cat did it, she influenced my other. What a mess! What we did was took a spray bottle and sprayed them as they were about mid screen. Then after a while, if they saw you reach for the spray bottle they jumped off. It took time to make them stop but we didn't have to spend any money on a pet door or anything.

If a pet door( would be a good idea) is out of the question, then try taping aluminum foil to the screen. Most cats don't like the sound it makes when scratched. If that doesn't work try balloons.

Why not just install a pet door for your cat or forget about the stupid screen door - it is just an object whereas your cat is a living, FEELING being. So the screen looks crappy - does it REALLY matter & is it really worth a cruel operation on your cat???

well my cat used to do that
i just left the door a tad bit open whenever I went upstairs or whatever
btw you can also cut your cats nails with a regular pair (or special cat pair) of sissors (sp i know)
but dont cut the red part of her nail its a vein
put too much pressure on it and it will really hurt her
be careful
i can cut the nails to avoid declawing and my cats are ok
start cutting her nails when shes asleep so she gets used to it
good luck

When and if you ketch her in the act, throw a can of pennies at her. Dont hit her! Just scare her with the noise.
