According to the story the Romans couldn't pick him out of a group. So he wasn't that obvious. On the same hand though they could have also crucified someone else without knowing the difference. Some stories also say he had a twin brother.I don't think any twin brother would do that either. Jesus more than likely looked like most people of that time period and ethnicity.

Obviously no one really knows, but the blue-eyed, blond-haired depictions you see aren't even close. Considering that the average height around his time was about 5'5" he was probably short, perhaps somewhat stocky from doing a lot of manual labor, dark complected from being in the sun a lot, not to mention people from that area have a dark complexion and he probably had curly dark hair along with a curly beard. He looked absolutely nothing like the artist's depictions you've seen.

Good question...most folks know that that region of the earth at that time were people of color. A significant number of Ethiopians had migrated north to the Arabian peninsula as well. Jesus was said to have been educated in Africa and he and his mother Mary fled to Africa when the authorities sought to kill the newborns of that day. The bible says that he had hair like lambs wool and feet like bronze (burnished brass) burned in an oven. My guess is he looked like a southern Palestinian or northern African. Now this answers what he looked like. I supposed "how" he looked is similar to how we all look...with our eyes. (Smile)....~~~~W

Nothing like the paintings and sculptures we normally see of him as a tall, lean man, with light skin and long light- brown hair, and blue eyes
He most likely was short and stocky, with short cropped black hair and short cropped black beard, and very dark brown eyes, like almost all Jews and middle- eastern men at that time.

I don't know neither. I'm sure he had dark hair, dark complected, with brown eyes, just as the other people (Arabs) were of the region at the time. We'll all soon find out one day.

how would we know...there were no cameras then...each ethnic group envisions him to look like themselves...since we know he was Jewish and know the area He lived in we have to assume that He had dark hair and eyes...that is about as close as we can get
