start out by saying hi and being friendly to him, try to have a small conversation with him about a certain class just to find out his opinion on it, and ask him what is his favorite class just to show him that you are interested in what he has to say, you could try to find out what classes he has during a certain period and ask him how it is, and ask around to find out if he is into any sports or plays any after school to have some things to talk about with him, but just start things out slowly and then progress to talking with him alittle more each day, even if you just ask him how is his day going, eventually he will start to get used to you speaking with him and get more comfortable enough to start acknowledging you when he sees you and will say hi to you as well but atleast you will be showing him that you are a friendly person and have taken the initiative to speak to him first....

Find a way to talk 2 him or just go up 2 him and say hi and see where it goes from there.
