I recently learned about the importance of the ph balance in our bodies. It basically says that when you are on the alkaline side you cannot get sick, or even cancer, since viruses, bacteria and cancercells cannot survive in a alkaline state. Although my ph is good during the day it is bad in the morning (about 5.8) Anybody know how I can bring this up.

The best way is to hyperventilate (i.e. breathe more). I dont reccomend this because your body naturally compensates for pH. I can try to explain the physiology of blood pH to you and its link to breathing.

CO2 + H2O (reversible Arrow) H2CO3 (reversible Arrow) HCO3- + H+

So when you stop breathing, CO2 gathers as you are not clearing it through your lungs and therefore the reaction moves forward leading to more H+ and therefore pH lowers. If you breath more the CO2 is cleared and the reaction moves backwards decreasing acid and increasing pH.

Blood pH has important roles in assessing patient's kidneys and/or lungs and is very important as you have said. The other thing you should know is that alkaline conditions aren't as good as you think. Alkaline conditions could be due to overbreathing. This will lower your CO2 which is bad for the brain in particular since it uses CO2 as a vasodilater of vessels ensuring a good blood supply. Alkaline blood (increased HCO3-) also causes Calcium to leave cells so the muscles in the hands start to go funny and nerves can play up too.

I hope this helps you and hopefully interests you!
