my dog is one years old shitsu and poodle mixed dog. (shipoo) and he wouldnt stop barking when he hears weird noises,like when a door opens or something that might have startled him. he also growls at my brother constantly whenever he sees him... i dont know how to get him to stop growling at my brother because i guess he senses a vibe in my brother that he doesnt like or something...and maybe even because its fear because there were some incidences between them which kinda caused a boundary between them... how can i stop him from growling at my brother? ...my brother has been fed up with sheebie growling at him so whenever he sees sheebie growling at him he gets beats on the head with a book until he stops... what can i do to stop them from fighting all the time?

First of you have to correct the dog as soon as you see the behavior starting. Your brother should not hit the dog when he comes in the house he should not make any eye contact with the dog and go sit down and let the dog know the he is not a threat. If the dog still shows signs of any aggression correct the behavior with a stern no and use his name with it like fido NO! don't hesitate do this immediately so the dog understands your talking to him/her. The dogs behavior should change, while your brother is sitting there he should allow the dog to sniff him again don't let your brother make eye contact with the dog, the dog sees that as a dominant move on your brothers part you on the other hand should always make eye contact with the dog when you are giving a command. Remember you have to be the boss of the dog not the other way around. Good luck.

first stop your brother from beating the dog, NOW. yes he can get in trouble with the law. growling is the dogs way of giving an early warning (leave me alone), the barking is for fear,excitement. or to get attention. if it's the last, simply ignore and it should stop. as for your brother, hitting the dog for growling is like hitting a baby for crying in the eyes of the law, and i want that to stop.

if your bro is scared of dogs or doesnt like dogs, dogs are intelligent animals and they can tell. i have a rottweiler and my cousin who is scared sh*tless of dogs came in and my dog sensed it and sat by me the whole time growling at her coz she could sense her fear, i dont think you can stop it growling and barkin, but you need to stop your bro hitting her over the head just get him to ignore him, thats the best,

he mite be a aggressive pooge.And your brother must ev done wierd stuff whith him and I think he is very sensetive.
So what you must do is let your brother spent more time with him.
And I think why he is barking and stuff,I wonder if his parents are aggresive.
