Well, I find that the much smaller children generally prefer Blues Clues, because it easier to understand at a very young age. I personally have seen countless episodes of each, and would recommend the earlier volumes of Blues Clues (the ones before Joe was switched) over the later ones. Although girls seem to like Dora because the characters are drawn with 'cuter' faces, and are in fact cartoons. Also, Dora includes some Spanish, which could be an advantage or disadvantage depending on how you view it.

My siblings and I were fans of Blues Clues, so I assure you that your niece will not by disappointed in you buying it. :) However, I find that many young girls watch Dora and thoroughly enjoy it. Therefore I would ultimately suggest Dora the Explorer over Blues Clues.

It depends on the gift you are planning on getting. If you plan on getting a movie for your niece then I think dora would be the better of the two. Dora teaches English and Spanish as well the show is very creative and helps kids with learning along. The show really involves a child in there development. My four year old likes both and watches both everyday, however with dora she can sing the entire opening song and almost all the songs in the show from beginning to end. I would make sure that whatever you get your niece even if it is just a toy that is educational. Educational toys are part of the key development of a child gaining independence. At two years old your niece is starting to get a feel of things on her own. Learning how to play by herself and many other things. So in my opinion no matter what you get her it should be of educational value to her.

You're not going to go too far wrong with either of them, but I think maybe Blues Clues. Unless your niece has fairly well-developed language skills, 2 can be a little on the early side for Dora.

You could get a Blues Clues coloring book and a Dora coloring book. Or if you didn't know which one the would like better you could geta Dora doll because girls usualy go for Dora.

Blues clues. I have seen a young girl start stuttering, and it was believed she got it from Dora, because in the beginning of the episodes, they sing, Da Da Da dora, and this little girl started all her sintances this way. My son watches blues clues and it is highly educational.

i would say it's a toss up....i disagree with many of the answers your recieving, such as.....dora for girls and blues clues for boys. and that the educational values are more age appropriate with blues clues. my daughter has been watching both since she was about 1 1/2 and she is quite intelligent. that thankfully comes from being exposed to both blues clues and dora. they aren't for diffrent ages they just teach diffrent concepts and values. honestly i would agree with 2 coloring book (one of each). coloring helps practice hand eye coodination and creativity. so i'd say 2 coloring books and an 8 pack of crayons. hope i could help you make an informed decision.

It depends, if you asked my oldest daughter at 3 she would say Blues Clues, if you asked my yougest daughter at 3 she would say Dora. They are both good shows and children love them.

truthfully since it is for a girl I would personally go with Dora. Dora has a lot of cute toys for girls that also allow them to pretend like girls do with Barbie.
