but when they gave the antibiotic amoxicillian they it would take 5 days to get into your system

Most sinus infections as viral rather than bacterial in origin. This is the reason why they can be so hard to treat. A good rule of thumb is that most sinus infections will respond in about 7-10 days with antibiotic therapy, and 7-10 days without antibiotic therapy

Although a sinus infection (acute sinusitis) may follow an upper respiratory viral infection, the sinus infection itself is not caused by virus. It's usually due to opportunistic bacteria. It can, however, be fungal or viral. Chronic sinusitis is not bacterial. If you were prescribed antibiotics for 5 days, it may take a few more days for your symptoms to clear up. If there's no improvement within 3 days after the antibiotic therapy is completed, report this to your doctor right away.

I use to have sinus infections once or twice a year as I have bad allergy's.Three years ago I started taking a 500mg garlic tablet,since then I haven't had any kind of infection including sinus infections.Good luck and hope your feeling better.

It depends on your body. And on what kind of medication you are taking. Certain kinds of medications work faster then others. Sometimes on the back of the box that the medications comes in it will have how long it will take for the medication to work. Good Luck. Get some golden seal herb. make a tea.drink it.and pour some up your nose.with there head held back. don't sniff. just pour it and let it get back into your sinus.It will heal it.gargle with salt water. I know.
