You can add 4 eggs, 1 cup of milk, 1/3 cup of butter instead then bake on 350 for the same amount of time as the box says. You may have to cook about 10 min. longer depending on your pan.
See you don't even have to add oil. Good Luck!

The flavor of the cake mix will cover the taste of the oil, I still prefer vegetable oil.

What are you trying to substitute that for? Vegetable oil?? Olive oil can be used as a substitute for vegetable oil, but I'm not sure if it will change the taste of it noticably.

I've used it. No one but me noticed any difference. But, if you have applesauce, you can substitute it on a 1 for 1 basis ... that is 1/2 cup oil, use 1/2 cup applesauce--just don't use the flavored ones...just plain applesauce.
