Techniquely you have the same sort of setup when using the crock pot compared to a conventional move. Heat sauce is from the bottom, sides are porcelain most cases which is a great conductor of heat. Mix your pie, add to pre-pared crock pot (butter bottom and half up the sides Add a piece of rounded parchment paper so it fits tight within the circle of the bottom of the pot. Pour you batter in, tap lightly and wait till the finished product . Cool 15-20 minutes then turn crock upside down catching the cake as it comes out. bon appetite

Hot Fudge Sundae Cake
Makes 6 servings.
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 1/2 cups hot water
Spray inside of 2 to 3 1/2 quart crock pot with cooking spray.
Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread batter evenly in crock pot.
Mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa in small bowl. Stir in hot water until smooth. Pour evenly over batter in crock pot.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Turn off crock pot. Let cake stand uncovered for 30-40 minutes to cool slightly before serving.
Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes. Spoon sauce over top. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.

Never done that, but I would not mind trying, that sounds fun! It would be a neat party idea! I will have to start looking for crock pot cake recipies.

yes this is possible, but you need a special cake pan designed for Crock Pots with a vented lid. Works good.

Sounds foul I notice that the recipe is for a type of cake not known to be fluffy or light. One that doesn't require much delicacy. The last apple sauce spice cake I had was made from chickpea and rice flour and was still good.

Personally i have never done it, however a friend of mine has and it came out so nniiiccceee and moist. it wasn't dry like i thought it would be.
