One big thing is to listen to..REALLY listen to her, and then remember what she says and ask later. For example: If she comes to you one day complaining about a problem going on with her best friend, don't just tune her out, listen to what she says. Then a couple of days later, bring it back up to her, ask her questions "Have things worked themselves out with your friend?" or "So, what is going on with your friend now, are things ok?" This will let her know that you actually listened and actually cared enough to follow-up with her...
