I have a 357 King Cobra. Someone told me you can shoot 38 special bullets out of it. Is this true. And if so how, and if not, why?.
Thank you.

first of all, if you own any type of weapon, you must know the inner workings, the type of ammo and how to use it safely. a 357 magnum is only a 38 cartridge lengthened, you may shoot 38 caliber from a 357, but a 357 will not fit a 38. to long of a cartridge

.38 short colt/long colt,.38 s&w special= .357"
.357 winchester magnum/.357 maximum=.357"

You can shoot .38 Special out of ANY .357 magnum or maximum revolver.

You could shoot the colt shells out of .38 or .357 but they are more or less obsolete.

You can sefely fire .38 Special ammo in your .357.

This is particularly handy, as you can buy cheap .38 practice ammo for less than the Magnum rounds.

Yes you can shot.38 spl out of all .357 mag,its goingto make it have less recoil and is less money to shoot. This is possible because the casing size is damn near identical in diameter, but you CAN NOT SHOOT .357MAGs OUT OF A .38 spl.
