Ive been dating this girl whom I love to death for 2 years. I have bought an engagement ring and all BUT I get frustrated because sometimes I think she can be needy. When we are apart for a couple weeks she gets upset when I have to hang up the phone. She wants me to call her whenever I have free time. I love her and I want to talk with her but I have other priorities and I just want some time to myself. I hate talking on the phone in the first place. I get frustrated with her and she gets upset with me. We basically live together and we work together and we sometimes have classes together. Yet it seems she is not happy with the amount of attention I give to her. Whenever I tell her that shes needy or a little too dependent she gets upset and I feel like the jerk. We love each other so very much and we want this to work but how can I help her realize that we both need our own space sometimes. It doesnt mean I dont love her anyless. Any advice?

Same with me, only I don't live with my girlfriend. She really craves attention, try playing hard-to-get. Problem is, she'll either get really mad, or stop being needy and be more attracted to you than ever before.

It could just be the way she is and probably will always be. It sounds like a insecure thing. But then again since she's been with you for 2 years she's probably feeling secure and when your not around she panics. I'd just tell her what you said here about how much you love her even though I'm sure she already knows but just keep in mind some people are like this and never will change. good luck to you ;o)

look you never tell a girl her weaknesses as a person. if you really love her that wouldn't matter at all. if your girlfriend is needy then maybe you should introduce her to some girls that are ur friends so she wouldn't be on ur back all of the time...

ok well talk to her and tell her how you are feeling and express how much you love her in time she will understand and if you guys get married and have kid and stuff you will soon be wanting to spned as mucg time as you can with her because you wont have anytime to yourself
so just be patient and talk to her and in time things will get better
