Are there fewer automobile accidents? If you have stats or some evidence would be helpful.

I have noticed that I haven't been handling as many auto claims this winter. I usually have lots of "slid into another vehicle" claims but have not had many at all this year. I am loving this warmer weather. It's not 70 here but at 30 degrees it is a heatwave here.

El Niño and Global Warming, baby! It's 70 in NYC today -- how FU is that?

There's a lot more violent weather in many places -- Denver is on their 3rd blizzard in 4 or 5 weeks. I wouldn't say that there are fewer accidents over all though, but that's just an anecdotal observation.

We got hit with an early snow here in the Midwest that caused a LOT of extra accidents due to the idiots here trying to drive 40 on packed ice and snow.

milder weather doesnt really play much of a part of it like boston said. there's just some peeps that go brain dead when it comes to winter weather driving. these are the kind of driver's that refuse to slow down even when the rain is coming down so hard, it reduces visibility to under 1/4 mile.
on the other hand, this milder weather has given me more days to take the bike out and have a bit of fun.
