Actually, theology, done properly, DOES require evidence. It requires the support of the text from which one is deriving their theology. I realize that a lot of bozos think they can do theology and pay no attention to the rules. But theology is something that can be taught in an academic setting just like anything else, and this type of theology does require evidence.

-You have the right connection because most every religion propagates doctrines of trinity, hell-fire, immortal soul, limbo, purgatory etc.--which obviously would not pass any tests.
But the same applies to evolution, astrology and any of the theoretical concepts that are in the hypothetical stage and never advance.
-Those topics of religion as well as evolution & astrology have never passed the simple test of "scientific method." Note the clear cut comment and many more statements that exist to that conclusion.

*** g74 9/22 p. 18 Do I Have to Believe Evolution? ***

“Theodosius Dobzhansky [an evolutionary scientist] says that much of the work of scientists is beyond the comprehension of average laymen, but that evolution is not. He says it’s a matter of elementary biology. And George Gaylord Simpson [another prominent evolutionist] contents that it’s immoral to have blind faith, whether in a religious doctrine or in a scientific theory. He also says that it’s man’s responsibility to test the findings of specialists and then decide, and that a person doesn’t have to be a research biologist to evaluate the evidence on evolution.”

most fields, once you have evidence it becomes a fact

half of modern physics is just as much conjecture as theology could ever be (I'm talking about string theory and quantum mechanics and the such)

mathematics is also constantly on the look out for new theorems that nobody has any proof of

half the point is to look for the evidence though

In any field you don't need any evidence to support hypothesis.

You can laugh at Christianity. You can mock and ridicule it. But it works. If you trust Christ, start to watch your attitude and actions...Jesus Christ is in the life changing business.

I love to study the evidence for Christianity. The word "Apologetics" does not mean "to apologize" but to give a defense what one believes to be true. Prayer also helps.

I have a personal relationship with God...and I cannot prove I have. Personally, my heart cannot rejoice in what my mind rejects. My heart and and head were created to work and believe together in harmony.

Christ commanded us to "love the Lord our God with all your heart. with all your soul, and with all your mind" in Matthew 22:37.

I did my homework, and I made an intellectual decision to follow Jesus. It is part of the Christian walk that we have less faith some times...many times because our hearts desire things that are very contradictory to Christian way of life.

I come across sometimes lines like "Many Muslims have much more faith in Muhammed that many Christians have for Jesus Christ." And that may be true, but Christians are "saved". And I want to be saved. I need to be saved by Jesus because there is no way I would make it to my Father's house bymyself.

Buddists have faith in Buddha and are dedicated to him. These kind of ways of lives do not have any demands really. Go with the flow. So "demanding" God is not very popular.

If you are an Atheist, you also have faith. And you also have to have a lot of faith to believe that there is no God. What is important from the Christian perspective of faith that it does not matter how much faith you have but rather who is the object of your faith.

There is a lot of evidence for Christianity, but no one can not diminish my personal connection with God. : )

Global warming. The theory of global warming says that it accounts for both warmer and colder tempatures. Nice to have a theory that is correct no matter what the outcome of the imperical evidence.

Astrology and Creationism. But we could clump those together with Theology, and just call it mythology.
