I recently noticed that I like taking pictures & everyone around me said I do have a talent in capturing some good shots. So I really want to get into photography taking into consideration that i work full time & a mother of a 6 month old baby! Can any1 give me some suggestions on how to start & how I can sell my work?

im a photographer.

well done you. your a mum, who no doubt knows lots of other mums..with babies... family portraits.. bouncing baby pics..natural no posed... theres no real skills involved, bar teh one you obviously have..an eye.

i started doing weddings for friends (cost only) and within a year i'd honed my skills, from then on it was 200 quid a pop, but i didnt do straight 36 snaps here you are madam... i did reportage, eight hours, from doing the brides hair, to the drunken excesses of teh reception... and i gave them a stack, literally 360 shots, and i did two off. D&P cost me 70 quid, and i just made 130 quid for six to eight hours, and of course i'd get fed and watered!

then you make more money off reprints, frames and all that. (in fact more than you charged for the wedding in the first place) nowadays all you need is a decent Dcam. a good A3 printer, a laminator and some imagination..and a few easily learned core skills...and then its upto you.

i only ever worked by reference. and your satisfied customers are worth their weight in gold, especially when they tell their friends

start taking pictures of weddings for a fee.
have hubby watch the baby.
if your friends really like your pics maybe they
will hire you to photograph their wedding.
of course there are schools and universities.
and you can learn at a wal-mart photo studio.
