I cannot believe the answer above mine about "casualties" of war!
Is this what we have become and is this what we defend?!
Shameful! All I can say is, woe unto us.........I'm serious!

Good question. I used to pride myself on being very informed and in the current about every issue. I've found that I've backed off quite a bit more and feel a more happy person because of it. New York Times Week in Review tells me what I need to know. I take a daily glance at headlines, maybe skim the article but find that nothing really changes when you get down to it. Also, due to the area I live in at this time I am unable to watch television and the pricing is outrageous for cable. However, I have a feeling if I was able to watch it then I'd at least hear what the major stories are. Other than that, it's paper and online

These Marines have still not been convicted for the accused crime.
If they were in fact guilty, they should be sentenced to death. Their behavior was inexcusable, reprehensible, and brings dishonor to the U.S. military.
Now, you claim there is no difference between the insurgents and the U.S. military. You are incorrect. These Marines are being investigated, and if found guilty, will be punished for their crimes. This incident, if it occured, is not a regular occurence in the military. Nevertheless, it is being covered extensively by the world media, and the Marines in question are being heavily critized by their own people.
Who investigates the insurgents when they commit their FREQUENT atrocities? Who punished them when THEY are found guilty of war crimes? Which global media outlets provide the same coverage of an individual case of atrocity for insurgents like these Marines are getting? Who among the insurgents criticizes their own when they do wrong?
The insurgents intentionally murder and torture innocent people all the time, and they celebrate these crimes. The U.S. military has a few isolated incidents of murder and rape, and the guilty soldiers and Marines are punished for it.
There is NO similarity between the two groups.

WAR IS HELL! War can bring out the best and worse in anyone. I don't condone the actions of those Marines, if in fact they are guilty of anything. Put yourself in their place, not knowing exactly who the bad guy is...who may decisde to shoot you or blow you up when you least expect it.
Accidents happen.War is a serious game...People die...
Some of the bad things come from fear and emotions.they are not premeditated......when you see your fellow Marines killed there is a sense of retribution felt. The Fog of War doesnt always aloow for concise thinking or planning....**** happens in a split second.
God bless all our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Marines...they have a very hard job....one that kill them or destroy them mentally.
George Bush did not put them there....thet is their job.to defend the US and it's way of life....Sadaam asked for this and Congress gave it to him.
Look at all the innocent people that perished in the World Trade Center...Pearl Harbor....Hiroshima...Casualties of War...
Im guessing you will never have the courage to defend our Country like those Marines have and are still doing.......
CRYBABY Seems to me that you are not on our side and maybe you should be charged with aiding and abetting the enemy. TRAITOR BIT*H!!!!
The Marine Corps will live on as you die...SEMPER FI!!!

Wars is very ugly. This happened and happening again. The Human been never learn about it, they doing this again and again, because the business some of them get rich.
It is very sad every human loosing life like that. Sad is the children, they can do anything about it from the adults they make some decision and making war. I don't support anybody starting wars and support any soldiers killing children.

Dont prejidize the whole military for the actions of a cruel minority of soldiers. Do you think Iraqis would have raped anyone if the tables were turned? Probably not Iraqis are angels arnt they? Thats how you seem to potray them.

What about the people who killed our marines? You dont seem too upset about that. Those "horrible" marines that are in iraq doing these things are americans... they are brothers, uncles, husbands, sons, and nephews of your neighbors. They are there because they decided to do something noble with their lives, they joined to defend people like you. Do you know what its like to be in a war zone? Clearly not if you think you can say things about these men who are there for you. You should be ashamed... go to hell

I find it interesting that many of the people photographed as dead bodies in Iraq, are not even dead.
There are numerous, well-documented sources that tell of people posing as dead bodies for propaganda purposes.
I do not find it improbable that the same people who would stage deaths for propaganda purposes, would also use their own children as weapons, training them to walk up to American soldiers with grenades.
It was a tactic similar to the ones used by the NVA.
Frankly, I don't think that American soldiers are your "guys," I doubt that you are in America at all.
I pity you for all the hate that spews out of you. I can't imagine how you live with that day in and day out.
