I got my ears pierced (first hole) October 12, and they're uneven... So even though it's been about 3 months, can I still take the piercings out and have them completely close? And how long would it take before I can get them pierced again?

They should close up quickly enough, but you'll probably always have a little scar. That doesn't mean that you can't get them pierced again, but you will need to come to terms with the fact that the scar will probably last for some time. What if you only got one ear repierced to match one hole on the other ear and just wore two earrings on one ear? That's kind of a cute look if you want to make the best of what you have and don't want to wait for ages. You can wear a little stud earrring in the ear with the double hole and dangelies on the other holes. I had a friend with this look and it was really cute, not "punk" at all. And then you wouldn't necessarily have to wait as long.

You might not really be able to do this if the earrings aren't that uneven. I'd give it half a year or so until you cannot put an earring through your ears even if you wanted to, and then go back and get them redone. You should probably talk to the people there.

And wherever you go, make sure they mark where they will put the earrings so you can check in the mirror whether they are where you want them. I believe most good ear-piercing places do that, and it makes your chances of getting even piercings much better.

Your age might have something to do with it, that is, if you're still growing. When my kids got theirs done around age 10, they didn't take care of them right and got infected so we took the earrings out and in less than a day we couldn't even get the earrings back in. Within a few weeks, you could still see where the holes had been, but they were pretty well closed. My youngest daughter got hers pierced three times in about 3 years, only because I wanted her to wait until I thought she'd be more responsible about taking care of them. There was never any problem about scar tissue or anything when redoing them.

I got mine pierced when I was 17 (I'm 48 now), wore earrings for probably 20 years, but haven't worn any in a long time now, and I can still put mine in. So, I would guess that a combination of age and how long ago you got your ears pierced would affect how fast the holes will close. Three months isn't that long, and if you're fairly young, I'd say you have a good chance of yours closing quickly. I should think that as soon as you feel comfortable about getting them repierced, you could go ahead, as long as they don't look red or anything.

As a radical male of the early 70s, I pierced my left ear and wore an earring for several years. To this day, it is not closed over and I could still get one in if I so chose to, however, being almost 800 now, I feel it would look silly.

ALONG TIME! I have not wore pierced earrings in 10 years and the holes are still there never have closed. Same thing happened to me...The holes were uneven. Still to this day with no troubles at all I can put earrings back in. They have never even tried to attempt to close!

Not long, about 6-8 weeks. Use Neosporin and massage the area a lot. You can cut down on scar tissue from setting up by doing that. Scars are not fully set up for about a year.
