I have an acne treatment that has won me the best answer better then twenty times. Often, the person who voted it the best answer was amazed at how well it worked, even those who had severe cases of acne. I'll copy and paste it below.

Use a hot compress on it (a washcloth, sponge, or anything that will allow you to apply moist heat to the area), and then use cool water to close the pores. Do the process over and over again, about five or six times. Use soap to wash the area, rinse it with warm water, blot off the excess water with a clean towel, and then treat it with an alcohol soaked cotton ball. It should be gone within five to six hours.

Here are some of the previous comments I cut and pasted from those who voted it as the best answer, (Copied and pasted as written. Capital letters seen are as originally answered)

I was in your exact position a year ago. Proactiv was only working partially.....not enough to justify the 50 dollars a month.

What you are looking for is "Acne Free" by University Medical.

It is a system just like Proactiv but it is less than half the cost (you don't have to have it shipped) and it contains twice as much of the acne fighting ingredients that Proactiv does.

My face would be a mess if I didn't use this stuff. When I first bought it I was very skeptical because it looked like a cheap copy of Proactiv, but now a day doesn't go by when I don't wonder how I'll ever survive if they stop making this stuff!

They also sell a serum that can prevent and destroy blackheads. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll bet anything it works better than what you are using now.

At least check this site out and go to Wal-Mart or Walgreens and spend 25 dollars on it. The worst that can happen is that some of your pimples go away.

I hope you find your answer

Try cutting down on your sugar intake and think about your stress level. They contribute to break outs not just dirt and oil.
Use an astringent everyday and wipe your face with cotton. (Don't use alcohol b/c it could over dry your face) When you are applying the astringent move your hand upwards in one stroke. Do this every night b/c the cold air from using it will help tighten your pores making it less possible for things to get into your skin. Whenever washing your skin be sure to use warm water so that your pores open up so that you are able to clean them.
And though it's difficult, try not to pop your pimples. There's one safe way to pop a pimple w/o running the risk of leaving a blemish-
wash your hands first then clean around the area with alcohol (but just that area) then take a piece of tissue and pop the pimple so that your nails are covered from your skin. Then wipe immediately.

In a magizine article I read that if you put a slice of a raw patatoe on it then it tones down the redness. Also some people use milk for face clenser, these things can help some people and not do any thing to others, all skin reacts differently, so just try thing you hear from friends, that they have tried.

The best thing I've found is Burt's Bees Blemish Stick. I never had a problem with pimples in my teen years. Then in my early twenties, they started to pop up here and there. I used BBBS, and they go away fast! I also switched to Zia Brilliance cosmetics. They are also all-natural, and they really improved my skin greatly. I love it!

First, make sure you always wash your pillowcases every week..
Exfoliate your skin and mask it at least once or twice a week. i really like Chanel's oil control exfoliator and mask. Biotherm works good too. make sure you wash ur face and use a toner everyday, if you have acne, you should use one with 2% sacylic(?) acid. neautrogena works too.

for spot treatments i would suggest neutrogena's or clean and clear spot treatment which contain 2% sacylic acid. they work reall well!! they clean out the acne and you see improvement in like a day! and theyre only about 5 bucks..

you should also check out sephora, they have tools like blackhead extractors to extract black heads.

use pure honey. its sterile, and bacteria can't grow in the presence of it. just put some honey on the blemish and cover it with a bandaid overnight...as for black heads, i'm not sure if the honey will work on those, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

apply a hot compress and leave it alone. don't squeeze it. maybe put some acne cream on it. try not to use a scrub every day unless it's mild.

put ice on it for about 15 mins. and it should reduce the redness and swelling and go away within a few days
