I was 12, but I know girls who started anywhere between 9 and 16, so you have no worries, unless you have any other physical problems that you are concerned about. Enjoy not having it while it lasts.

hey, its okay, i am 14 too and i just started mine when i just turned 13, if you wont start your period by age of 16, then you should contact your doctor, but other than that, i think your fine and its totally normal a lot of girls have the same problem, i was worried about mine too, because i turned 13 and most of my friends already had theirs. your period starts when you are around 100 pounds, and a year or two after your breasts started to grow...its okay dont worry, i am a freshmen in HS and this is only a second year of having my period.

No it's not unusual. I got mine when I was 11, but a friend of mine didn't get hers until she was like 16.

I was 13 1/2. Just ask your mom because sometimes a girl will start about the same age that her mom did.

I had it at 12, this year. But I am not really sure, because I only had it 1time, for about 5 days in october, and now is feburary, and then I never had it again, so it is really wierd. But don´t worry. A lot of people get it at 9, or even 16!!

Nope, it's totally OK. I had mine when i was 14. I was also worried like you are and so had to consult a doctor. He said that I shouldn't worry coz it depends on the body's hormones.

I dont know about the fat thing tho.

I think I was 13. Your period can be affected by your weight. My friend is 300+ pounds and no longer gets her period, her dr says when she loses weight they should come back. I am not sure what weight this would happen to a person, it might depend on the person it may not be a set number.
Hope this info was helpful.
