I can't add any new bookmarks or folders about 8 out of 10 attempts. Since no one seems to know how to fix this, I guess I have to reinstall IE7. How do I do this without creating more problems? The thing is, I can't believe how much I actually like IE7. I know Firefox and Opera are better, but I just don't have the time to hassle with the fact that, unfortunately, Microsoft is still the bully that does have easier access, etc...when it functions properly!!!

How do I proceed? Same question , kind of, about Sonic's Digital Media Studio.....do I uninstall before installing a different Sonic program (Creator)? I understand the rule, in general, is to uninstall first, but it is confusing when the software you are installing is like an upgrade . The Sonic thing has made a big mess, and I keep getting error messages whenever I boot up my pc. I have to add more ram....that wouldn't affect the Favorites, would it? Thanks.

It's better for you not to use IE7 because it will give you more problems. Uninstall IE 7 form the Add/Remove panel or use system restore to go back to IE6. IE6 is a lot more stable than IE7. You still can use IE6 to run Window updates and everything else. Use FireFox for your internet browsing, it's not much different from IE7 and you can customized it anyway you want. It's real easy. Adding RAM won't affect your favorites at all and it will make your PC run faster.

You don't have to keep IE7, if you don't wish. You can uninstall IE7 and go back to IE6, which is what I did.

Either way, if you wish to uninstall (and possibly re-install IE7), try the following:

Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Note the little "show updates" checkbox at the top-right of the Add/Remove programs window. Check that box and it will show the Internet Explorer update. You can now uninstall IE7.

It would be a good idea to reboot your computer, too.

As for the Sonic programs, yes, I would do a complete uninstall, if you're already having problems. Also, after uninstalling, you may want to delete any remaining traces of the program from your hard drive. Sometimes the uninstaller doesn't get everything, or there will be folders & files left behind that are user-profile related. Browse your main disk drive to locate any "leftovers". If any, they will be located here, assuming that your main disk letter is C:\

C:\Program Files\

Delete any Sonic folders listed there AFTER running the uninstaller.

Reboot and then reinstall.

Good luck!

OK, you've sorta answered one of your questions. There are still problems with IE7 and will be for some time yet. Microsoft has yet to fix them. If you like it, you'll have to live with it, or uninstall it and let it revert back to IE6 until the bugs are fixed. Uninstalling IE7 and re-installing it won/t change that. Personally, I didn't like IE7 and sure don't have the patience to mess with it.

As to Sonic, I think the same is true. In order to install a different program, you'll probably have to uninstall one.

Easy.Go to 'Start'-Control Panel- Add-Remove Programs- IE7,and uninstall. Maybe best to uninstall the Sonic stuff in the same way Its good practise to restart PC after each program is installed. Good luck
