There is a 'Pilot Knob' at the end of Pilot Knob Road in Mendota Heights, MN ( a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul ). It is the point of land highest above the Mississippi River north of Red Wing, MN and was used as a prominent landmark by old-tyme riverboat pilots to let them know they were approaching St. Anthony/Pig's Eye ( which is now Minneapolis/St. Paul ).
It is quite scenic.

There is one possibility, but since you don't say where you live, I can't tell you which Pilot Knob is yours. If you put "Pilot Knob" in " " in your search line, you will find 208,000 references. Take your pick.

It has nothing to do with aircraft or aviation to my knowledge.
Maybe it's just the name of a street, & nothing else.
