THORGIRLSWAR.... It was in Alamogordo New Mexico. NOT Nevada.
The First Nuclear Bomb (Bomb being a device to be used for practical application and NOT a "Test Device") was exploded over the Japanese City of Hiroshima.
The First Nuclear Device ever exploded was a test device detonated at White Sands near Alamogordo, New Mexico.
UPDATE:
Bobbyboy learn your history please.
The Trinity Device was NOT "Dropped" it was detonated from a "Shot tower"
Hiroshima was the PRIMARY target, with Kokura being the Secondary. The Bomb was dropped as planned by the Enola Gay. You Claim that Nagasaki was the primary and that weather diverted them to drop on Hiroshima, the secondary. Not true
On the Second Bombing (Nagasaki), it was KOKURA that was the primary and NAGASAKI that was the secondary. Reported heavy cloud cover over Kokura cause the B-28 "Bockscar" to Divert to the secondary "Nagasaki".
PLEASE learn your history and check your facts before spouting off. thanks.

The first nuclear bomb was detonated on a tower at the Trinity test site, outside of Almagordo, New Mexico. The second, and the first one used as a weapon, was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6, 1945. The third, and only other one ever used offensively, was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, 3 days later. Those two bombs scared Japan so deeply that they surrendered without even being invaded, an action previously unheard of in war. Estimates of the loss of life range from 150,000-250,000. Estimates of lives that likely would have been lost in an invasion start at over a million, and go much higher.

A test one was dropped at the TRINITY SITE outside of ALAMAGORDO, NEW MEXICO. The actual first combat dropping of the nuclear bomb was originally intended to be dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. When they came into range there was cloud cover and could not see the target. so the Enola Gay changed flight plans and dropped the bomb over Hiroshima, Japan. The japanese still refused to surrender so we dropped another on Nagasaki, Japan. Causing the japanese to finally surrender.
