What does it look like, as far as how well the owner took care of the outside of it? Maintenance records on fluid changes, whether it was done at the dealership or one of those oil change places(valvaline Quaker State,Jiffy Lube, etc, etc, as they keep records too in their computers) and I mean ALL FLUIDS too. In the rearend, tranny, front transfer case. Or if the present owner did all this did he save the receipts? Take it for a spin and try the 4wd hi out and see if it goes into 4wd. I have seen trucks that were never in 4wd hi and were frozen up and puked out the gears when it was(everyone should put a 4wd in hi at least once a month to keep them "freed up",so to speak. Like they say "Nothing runs like a Chevrolet" !!!! So ,YES Chevy trucks are built "Solid as a Rock" . I know I have had 3 of them and have friends who also built them and some are still building them in Ft Wayne Ind.Chevy builds an engine that has more torque and towing capacity than either Ford or Dodge. If you have to ask--and why is the owner selling----most of he time a used Chevy is still good for another 75,000 miles --you can tell if the truck has been abused by the appearance for the paint, carpets, and motor---if it looks too clean then it may be you need to pass and find something that is believeable.....

If you can get a good price on it and if it is a 8 cylinder its not a bad truck. I still prefer dodge though. Good luck!!
