The soul is that part of you which is not physical.
You don't possess a soul. You ARE a soul, and you possess a body.

The SOUL is that part of you that makes you who you are; your personality, etc. The SPIRIT is that part of you that communicates with God. Your BODY is that part of you that is the house to the SOUL and SPIRIT. One cannot 'possess' a soul. Only Satan or Christ can do that..depending on YOU and what YOU decide to do about your eternity.

It might be an effect of the way our brains function. We all seem to sense that there is an occupying force in our physical bodies, but where would it reside? The brain does not appear to have any central processor or 'seat' for the soul to occupy, so where is it then?
It might not exist. The ghost in the machine theory is an archaic way to look at consciousness, derived from personal experience, not scientific method.

Possess a soul, that can't happen, it would be like catching the flow of a river in bottle. The soul is like a river, it flows. It is light, your life, an energy, it can't be described because it is formless, and constantly shifting and changing, words are limit.

If you were in a terrible accident and you needed a complete new physical body (this is in the future btw), with your new body, you'd still be you, right? Now if you were in a second accident and you needed an organ transplant for every organ in your body including your brain and blood transfusions, bone marrow... the works, with your new brain, you'd still be you right? You wouldn't be someone else. Well your soul is the part of you that remains to preserve your identity and make you you.

a soul is a little piece of God which is connected to his spirit and which will grow and change and become one with the Spirit and will some day be a co worker with God in heaven.you don't need to worry about possessing it. it is yours already.You just need to recognize it.and ask the Spirit to be with you. and ask of the spirit and listen to the very quiet voice with in for the answers to your questions and for its guidance and then try to do Gods will as best you can with total faith.May Gods Spirit be with you always

Go through trials and tribulations. Listen to stories from those who have been opressed. Gain a sense of what is around you. Then appreciate and love life.
